What happens to your data here.

Very little. GoJumps has no accounts, no forms and no newsletter, so the only data in play is what your browser sends to load a page, plus Google Analytics, which you can switch off.

Updated

The short version

  • Nothing to fill in

    There are no accounts, forms, comments or mailing lists, so we never ask for your name or email.

  • Analytics with an off switch

    Google Analytics counts visits. In Europe it waits for your yes; anywhere, one click on this page turns it off.

  • Amazon's cookies stay on Amazon

    Product links take you to Amazon, which sets its own cookie so a purchase can be credited to us.

  • Nothing sold

    The site carries no ads, and we never sell information about you.

What GoJumps collects

GoJumps itself collects nothing you type, because there is nowhere to type it. The site has no accounts, contact forms, comments or mailing list, and it publishes no email address.

Like every website, our host (SiteGround) keeps a standard server log of each request: the IP address, the time, the page or file asked for, and the browser that asked. Those logs exist for security and troubleshooting, and we don't use them to follow individual visitors.

Fonts, photos and videos all load from gojumps.com itself, so no font or video service sees your visit. The homepage animation loads its code from cdnjs, a public code library run by Cloudflare; as with any download, that request shows Cloudflare your IP address and browser.

Google Analytics

GoJumps uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. Whether it runs for you depends on your browser and on the time zone your device is set to:

  • Europe. If your device uses a European time zone (the EU, the UK, the rest of the EEA or Switzerland), or one we can't read, a small banner asks first. Until you choose Accept, the Analytics code isn't loaded at all: no request to Google, no Analytics cookies. Decline, or ignore the banner, and it never runs.
  • Privacy signals. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Analytics doesn't load and no banner appears, wherever you are, unless you turn it on yourself below.
  • Everywhere else. Analytics loads with the page, and you can turn it off below at any time.

Every page works the same whether Analytics runs or not. When it does, Google Analytics 4 records:

  • which pages you view, and for how long;
  • how you arrived, such as a search, a link or a bookmark;
  • your device type, browser and screen size;
  • a rough location, at city or country level;
  • when you click a product button, which product it was and which page it sat on, so we can see which guides help people decide.

Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Analytics sets two first-party cookies whose names begin with _ga; they hold a random ID so that a return visit counts as the same visitor, and they expire two years after your last visit. Our Analytics code switches off Google signals and ad personalization, so your visit isn't used for Google's advertising features. Visit-level detail is deleted after at most 14 months. What we actually look at is totals, such as how many people opened a guide this week.

Google handles this data under its own policy, explained in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Turning Analytics off

The panel below shows whether Analytics is on in this browser and switches it either way. Turning it off stops Analytics on the spot and deletes its cookies for this site. Your choice, like an answer to the banner, is saved in your own browser as a local storage entry named gojumps-consent, and it never leaves your device. A choice you make here outranks a privacy signal from your browser.

Clearing this site's data in your browser forgets your choice, and Google offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every website.

Amazon and other sites

Product buttons pass through a short redirect page on gojumps.com and on to the product on Amazon. On a phone it may open the Amazon app instead of the browser, and from inside the Instagram, Threads or Facebook apps it hands the link to your regular browser so the page loads properly. The redirect stores nothing and sets no cookies.

Once you're on Amazon, Amazon's rules apply. It sets a cookie on its own site so that a purchase can be credited to GoJumps; that credit is how we may earn a commission. Amazon and other third parties may place and read cookies there, or use web beacons, to collect details such as your IP address and browser type. Amazon reports to us what was ordered, never who ordered it, and its privacy notice covers the rest. Our Analytics settings cover gojumps.com only; they can't control cookies that Amazon sets on amazon.com.

Any other site we link to has its own privacy policy, and we're not responsible for how it handles your data.

Children

GoJumps is written for parents and other grown-ups buying for kids, not for the kids themselves. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and with no forms on the site, there is no way for a child to send us any.

Your rights

GoJumps is written for shoppers in the United States, and its product links go to Amazon.com. Wherever you are, privacy laws such as the GDPR and California's CCPA give you the right to see, correct or delete personal data a site holds about you. GoJumps holds no names, emails or accounts, so there is nothing tied to you for us to look up, export or delete.

If Analytics ran for you, its data is linked to the random ID in its cookie rather than to your name. Turning Analytics off above, or clearing this site's cookies, breaks that link for good. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising, and with no ads on the site there is no ad profile to opt out of.

Changes to this page

If anything here changes, such as a new analytics tool or a sign-up form, this page is updated before the change goes live, and the date at the top moves with it. For how the picks themselves are made and paid for, see About GoJumps.
